The dimensions of a pickleball court is 20 ft wide by 44 ft long.
The recommended size for a pickleball court pad is 30 ft wide by 60 ft long.
We recommend building a pickleball court on a concrete base.
The two most common methods for installing the concrete are to install the concrete pad with a 'turn-down' around the Pickleball court perimeter. The turn-down serves as a footing to contain the pad and reduce the likelihood of future cracking. The second most popular method used is a "post-tension" cable base. This involves criss-crossing the area with cable prior to pouring the concrete to reinforce the slab. The cable is then tightened to compress the concrete and make the pad more resistant to cracking.
Constructing a new court involves a few preliminary steps including site selection, site
preparation, and securing needed permits and HOA approvals when applicable.
Under normal circumstances it takes about 60 to 90 days to construct and coat a
pickleball court. This includes 30 days to allow the concrete to cure prior to applying the
court coating.
Adding lighting, fencing, and other accessories may add extra weeks to the process.
It comes down to personal taste and future use. The quality of semi-permanent net is excellent. A semi-permanent offers flexibility should the court be used for multiple purposes.
Typically yes.
Very possibly! Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country and a private court is highly valued by pickleball players. It's a wonderful sport that can be played from ages 8 to 80!
